Not All Cats Like Catnip Toys!
Cool CatNip Toys for InStyle cats! Now most cats really LOVE Catnip, so it makes sense to provide some toys for your kitty that are imbued with this natural herb. The effects on cats are wonderful to see.
However, do keep in mind that not all cats are affected. They say that around 60% of cats do get a great deal of pleasure from Catnip – the rest simple ignore it.
So if you have never bought catnip toys previously, make sure you are prepared for the chance that your cat will not be impressed. That way you will not be disappointed.
Nothing like spending good money on toys only to find they go un-played with.
However, if you choose a shape and texture of cat toys that your feline likes otherwise – then it won’t matter if kitty doesn’t like catnip. The toys will get a great playing with any way, just because they are great toys.
When purchasing Catnip for your cat, make sure you buy organic and as natural as possible. You certainly don’t want your cat to be chewing on and inhaling chemicals, when it is not necessary.
Try Loose Catnip!!!
Along with Catnip filled toys, you can also purchase the loose Catnip herb itself. This is a great way of always having some on hand.
Having the loose catnip means that you are able to invent your own toys for your kitty. Maybe you crochet or knit? Can you sew a little felt mouse up? Then stuff your own homemade toys with the loose catnip. Winner!
You can use the fresh, loose catnip to re-invigorate your catnip toys, when they are losing their potency.
You can rub some onto the scratching post, onto your cat’s bed … any places you would like her to frequent.
How To Choose Catnip Toys
What to look for when choosing a great catnip toy. You probably already have a good idea of the kind of toy your cat prefers to play with. Use that as a starting point and find something similar in shape, size and texture.
If your cat is new, or you are getting a new kitten, then I would suggest a range of different toys. Get some small some larger, some fluffy, some with bells and jingly things.
Remember Safety With Your Catnip Toys
Not only with the catnip cat toys, make sure ALL your kitty’s toys are not a health hazard or have any risk of harm. There should be no long strings she can ingest, no bells, bobbles or balls that can become detached and swallowed etc.
And when you are not playing with your cat yourself, make sure all wands and string toys are put safely away.
Here Are Some Really Cool Catnip Toys.
I am sure your cat will enjoy one or two of these great toys – all filled with that heavenly scent that (most) cats adore!
Your cat will find the smaller ones great to toss around, carry around, squish themselves all over, and generally be a silly idiot with.
The larger stick-shaped toys make for excellent “kitty-kickers”. They will grab these catnip toys with their front paws – and thrash at it wildly with their back feet. They will cuddly and smooch all over them. Believe me, if you haven’t seen your cat on a catnip high yet – then you are in for a good belly laugh!
